Live Oak Woman Injuried

(Live Oak, FL) -- A Live Oak woman is facing non-life threatening injuries after being airlifted to Shands at the University of Florida. Kelie Jean Branham was involved in a multiple vehicle crash on U.S Highway 90 West at Stone Gate Terrace. Branham was rear-ended by one Lake City motorist, which sent her smashing into the car in front of her.

Obama Leads in Florida

(Florida) -- A new Fox News-Rassmussen poll shows Barack Obama is out in front in the Florida. The polls shows the democrat up seven-points over John McCain in the sunshine state at 52 to 45 percent. Pollsters surveyed 1000 likely voters in the state. In mid-September, Rassmussen reported McCain over Obama by five-points. In recent weeks several polls in Florida have reported a shift to Obama.

Suwannee Commission Delays Investigation

(Suwannee County, FL) -- Suwannee County Commissioners put off fixing holes in possible out-of-control spending by volunteer firefighters. The Chief of Station 42 Tracy Dowdy remains suspended but commissioners deciding at a meeting today that an investigation would wait till the 21st. Commissioner Jesse Caruthers says they will now pick up the Fire Engines that were kept at Dowdy's house as oppose to the station. In question, is more than seven-thousand-dollars in spending by the department at local hardware stores and other vendors. The Suwannee board wanted till wait for Commissioner Randy Hatch, who was out of town, to start an investigation.

Gas Prices Fall In Florida

(Florida) -- Prices at the pump drop somewhat significantly over the weekend. Triple A South reports a gallon of regular in Florida is averaging three-dollars and 60-cents. That's down seven-cents since Friday. Gas prices in Florida are now down below pre-Hurricane Ike levels. Gasbuddy.com reports the lowest price is the sunshine state is 3-16 a gallon at a Sarasota station.
